The final aerial journey of a frog. Kingfishers like Bee-eater toss their prey into a favorable position to swallow it.. This is a White-throated Kingfisher, Penang State, Malaysia.
Smooth-coated Otter with a Catfish, Straits Quay
In my early days with the Chestnut-headed Bee-eaters I was hoping to get one tossing an insect. They seem to do so with an extra flourish. One day I got lucky and got two at the same time.
Grey-chinned Minivet (male), Fraser's Hill
A Green-breasted Mango feeding. These are beautiful hummingbirds and the tails have a pleasant and variable iridescence depending on how the light strikes it..
An older shot of Little Terns feeding. The adult is handing over fish to the juvenile while flying. There were about 20 photographers lined up for such shots.
Chestnut-headed Bee-eaters are avid hunters and will only pursue flying insects. This one had just caught a butterfly and the trail of butterfly scales adds to the feel of action.
